Dakan Arena

The Dakan Arena is an equestrian and agricultural event venue located on the campus of Camp Pioneer in Randolph County, West Virginia. The facility was constructed in 2015 from generous private donations. The venue is well suited for equine events of many disciplines, livestock shows, rodeos, concerts, and other large outdoor events. Since construction, the Dakan Arena has hosted the West Virginia Cutting Horse Association, Northern West Virginia Quarter Horse Association, National Barrel Horse Association, International Barrel Racing Association, West Virginia High School Rodeo Association, West Virginia Draft Horse Association and more!

Facility Features

  • Restroom Facilities

    ADA public restroom facility available adjacent to the arena.

  • Parking

    Ample parking is available in adjacent fields for large trucks and trailers.

  • Audio System

    State of the art audio system includes 2 wireless microphones (one headset, one, handheld). The PA system communicates to the stall barns and includes hook up for auxiliary music source and external timing devices.

  • Wi-Fi

    Available for event managers.

  • Cattle Facilities

    Pens suitable for 120 head (6-10 cwt). Loading chutes for semi and gooseneck trailers are available. Water and shade provided.

  • Obstacles & Equipment

    Various jumps, rails, trail obstacles, poles and barrels are available for use.

  • Event Timers

    Eye hooks are installed above the cattle entry gates. Timer must be provided by the event host.

  • 56 Full Hookup Campsites

    These may be reserved by the event and sublet or rented separately via our online booking system.

  • Stalls

    66 permanent stalls are available. An additional 40 expo stalls can be housed in the lower barn at the events expense.

  • Advertising/Promotion

    Public events will be listed on the Camp Pioneer & Dakan Arena social media sites and listed with the Randolph County Convention & Visitors Bureau.

  • Arena watering

    Available via our community partners at the Beverly Volunteer Fire Department for a nominal fee. Please contact them directly at least two weeks in advance to schedule watering prior to your event.

  • Staff Member / Maintenance

    on call during the event.

  • Riding Arena

    120' x 250' pavilion riding arena with washed river sand and clay mix footing.

Agricultural Barn

The original agricultural barn was built in the 1970s and has been used for a variety of events over the years. This barn features 22 stalls, covered 60 ft x 100 ft exhibit area and wash rack all within the same enclosure. This barn is well suited for smaller shows and sales or may be used to house an additional 40 expo stalls for larger events. (Note that expos stalls must be provided by a third party.)

Driving Directions

From Beverly, West Virginia, Head South on US 219 to the stoplight at the south entrance of the Armstrong Hardwood Flooring factory. Turn left on Scott’s Lake Road. Proceed approximately 2 miles until you see the Camp Pioneer sign. Dakan Arena and the camping area are located just beyond on the right side of the road. There are two gated entrances. Either entrance may be used. Physical address: 266 Agricultural Circle, Beverly, WV.
