In the past, Camp Pioneer has served as an Emergency Shelter on numerous occasions. In February 2014, the Randolph County Park and Recreation Board entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Randolph County Commission to provide emergency shelter services at the request of the Office of Emergency Management. Camp Pioneer is equipped with housing and food service capabilities for several hundred people at one time.
